Order a Floor Plan With RoomSketcher: Step-by-Step

Follow this guide to order your first floor plan. Before you start:

  1. Prepare a blueprint, sketch, or drawing
  2. Make sure at least one key measurement is visible

Watch the video to learn how to order or follow the instructions below.

Step 1: Start Your Order

Sign in to your RoomSketcher Web Account. From the Home tab, click Order Floor Plans, or start a New Project and choose Order Floor Plans from the menu.

  • Select how many levels (floors) to include
  • Choose furnishing style: fully furnished, furnished as indicated, or unfurnished
  • Optional: add outside wall measurements to your 2D plan
The Order Details tab is the first step when submitting a floor plan order in RoomSketcher. Here, you enter the project name, specify the number of levels, and choose the furnishing style — such as fully furnished, furnished as indicated, or unfurnished. You can also check a box to include outside wall measurements on your 2D floor plan. Once the details are filled in, you click “Next” to move on to the blueprint upload step or “Cancel” to exit the process.

Step 2: Upload Your Blueprint, Sketch, or Drawing

Next, upload a layout of your space. This can be a scanned blueprint, a photo of a hand-drawn sketch, or a digital floor plan exported from another program.

  • Supported formats: JPG, PNG, PDF
  • Both digital scans and photos are accepted (within reason)
  • Only a single measurement is needed, as long as the rest of the floor plan is in scale

Step 3: Review and Customize Your Order

On the Order Summary screen, you’ll confirm your selections and choose optional features. Pro and Team subscribers can customize their floor plan delivery with advanced sharing and viewing options.

  • Add Live 3D links to share interactive walkthroughs
  • Include or exclude 3D Floor Plans as needed
  • See a full cost breakdown before placing your order

The summary lists selected options along with their corresponding credit costs: the floor plan order costs 9 credits, a 2D floor plan is included at no extra charge, a 3D floor plan adds 1 credit, and sharing the Live 3D floor plan for one year adds 6 credits. The total cost for the order is 16 credits.

A floor plan is shown in two versions side by side, with a large teal arrow pointing from left to right. The version on the left has empty living and dining areas, while the version on the right displays the same spaces fully furnished with sofas, a dining table, chairs, and décor. The comparison highlights how missing furniture was added to complete the interior layout.
